| Main bearings | Renew bolts/nuts: Yes Bedplate to engine block - tighten bolts in the following stages: 1-10 (M10 x 100) = 20 Nm + 70° 11-30 (M8 x 26/40) = 22 Nm Balancer shaft assembly: Use new bolts. Clean and lubricate bolts. Bolts = 25 Nm + 90° Inject Loctite 128357 sealant into left and right injection nozzles using BMW tool No.11 4 370 or equivalent until it flows out of injection nozzles and openings at front and rear crankshaft seals fig 2.A and fig 3.A. Remove excess sealant and apply Loctite 17100 hardener where the sealant escaped at the injection nozzles and the crankshaft seals.  Oil pump chain guide bolt fig 4: Use new bolt. 4 Nm + 45° Cover for oil pump chain guide bolt: Use new seal. 32 Nm |
