Camshaft carrier/cap Apply sealant to mating surface of camshaft carrier using a stipple roller. Remove excess sealant from the camshaft carrier bearing channels. Excess sealant can cause engine damage. Tighten bolts in the following stages: Bolts 22, 23, 20, 13 = 8 Nm Bolts 1-12, 14-19, 21 and 24 = 12 Nm Slacken off bolts 22, 23, 20 and 13, then retighten to 12 Nm. Camshaft carrier/cap tightening sequence
Camshaft/rocker cover Apply sealant to mating surface of camshaft carrier using a stipple roller. Remove excess sealant from the camshaft carrier bearing channels.
